Art 338A: Creative Darkroom Photography

Photographic media as personal expression. Exploration of Black & White Photography. Historical attitudes and processes, as well as new materials and contemporary aesthetic trends. Creative Photography Art 338A is a foundation-level course designed to provide the basic technical skills of black and white darkroom photography. Through this course, students will gain the ability to express and articulate their ideas through photographic processes, while also learning traditional darkroom printing and learning how to operate an SLR 35mm film camera. The main objective of this course is the introduction of analog film photography technologies as a tool in order to create compelling and engaging photographic images.
